About the author

I am a professor of plant ecology in the Botany Department at Connecticut College.  I am also a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  The juxtaposition between  science and religion and between liberal and conservative colleages and friends provides for many interesting conversations and debates.
